President & Co-Founder

Chris Overwater is renowned for his expertise in all facets of construction. With over 35 years as a tradesperson and leader, he has worked in the pipeline, facility, and pressure equipment industry with great success. Customers rely on him for his ability to diagnose problems in constructability, provide value added solutions, and honor contractual commitments. His additional experience in construction management and his extensive industry relationships, have been instrumental in the successful completion of numerous high-profile projects. With a focus on building strong, long-lasting partnerships with his employees, contractors, and clients; Chris brings a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to every project.

Chris’ extensive experience and deep industry connections mean clients can trust that their projects will be managed by someone who understands the intricacies of construction. His proactive approach to problem-solving and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction make him an asset to any project.

Ron Daye, P.Eng.

Director & Co-Founder

Ron Daye has built a distinguished career in engineering and project management over the past four decades. As the founder and CEO of Rangeland Engineering, Ron has led his teams through the successful delivery of hundreds of complex projects across various sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and infrastructure. His technical expertise and leadership have contributed to the consistent growth and reputation of Rangeland as an industry leader.

Ron’s deep engineering knowledge and commitment to quality execution ensure that each project is managed with precision, delivering exceptional results. His strategic vision and focus on client needs makes him a critical partner in navigating the complexities of modern construction projects.

Rick Hoogenboom

Vice President (Operations) & Co-Founder

Rick Hoogenboom is a construction industry veteran with a track record of delivering complex projects in commercial building construction, utility infrastructure, and oil and gas. Rick’s experience as a tradesperson from the ground up provides critical insight into worker management, equipment logistics, and project planning. Rick has always taken pride in his ability to meet his commitments on schedule and pricing.
Over his career, Rick has shown the ability to foresee challenges that are inherent to the project and manage the change before it can affect the project negatively. His operational expertise ensures that the most challenging projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Rick’s operational efficiency, combined with his ability to manage large, multifaceted teams, ensures that clients receive a seamless, high-quality execution. His focus on safety, reliability, and delivering value makes him a trusted partner for clients who need assurance that their projects will be completed to exacting standards. Rick says what is needed and holds all parties accountable.

Chris P. Overwater

General Manager

With over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Chris P. Overwater is a seasoned professional known for his strategic leadership and operational expertise.  

 Chris began his career in the oil and gas sector, working with his dad, Peter as a pipefitter for the family business, Peter Overwater Oilfield Construction Ltd.  In 2019, when that business closed, he moved into a Shop Manager position at Train Oilfield Services Ltd.  His extensive background encompasses various aspects of the industry, including exploration, production, project management and execution.  This diverse skill set has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and commercial sides of the business.

 At Rangeland CFM Inc., Chris is committed to fostering a culture of safety and sustainability while enhancing operational efficiency.    He believes that the key to success lies in building strong teams and empowering employees to reach their full potential.  His leadership style is characterized by collaboration, transparency, and a focus on continuous improvement.

 In his free time, Chris enjoys outdoor activities, coaching his kids in sports, travelling, and spending quality time with his family.  His dedication to both his career and personal life reflects his belief in the importance of balance and well-being.

 Chris continues to be a driving force in the oil and gas industry, leveraging his experience to propel Rangeland CFM Inc. into a sustainable and successful future.

Ted Reyes

Project Execution Specialist

As a Project Execution Specialist, Ted specializes in identifying the most effective methods, materials, and trades to ensure successful project outcomes. From managing daily activities to pre-project planning and meeting critical timelines, Ted excels at tackling challenges and fostering camaraderie in delivering exceptional results. With over 30 years of practical experience, he has gained extensive insights into both people and projects.

Throughout his career, Ted has successfully led a variety of challenging and innovative projects. Notable accomplishments include the Out of Africa Exhibition for the Calgary Zoo, specialty gas piping beneath the Louise Bridge, the Compressor High-Frequency Vibration Reduction Project for Encana Gas Storage, and the rehabilitation of Cochrane Alberta's Natural Gas Lo-Cat Sump System.

Many of these projects have introduced and advanced modern construction technologies and methodologies, including hydro-active urethane grout injection, carbon fiber structural repair techniques, and advanced equipment grout support designs.

Jeff Mathieson

Director (Business Development)

Jeff Mathieson has over 40 years of experience, successfully managing several welding fabrication companies, as well as hospitality. Background as a journeyman welder, B-Pressure, vessel and structural fabrication. His career developed into becoming the owner of several successful companies. Experienced in pipeline construction, compression stations, pulp and paper, mining aggregate and cement, high rise construction, oil sands, marine offload facility construction, ski hill lift installation and infrastructure.

Emphasis on networking and sales is a natural talent for this people-connector.  Jeff has cultivated many trusted relationships with employees and businesses,resulting in profitable and mutually beneficial relationships with his customers. This has resulted in many referrals and an extensive network of tradespeople and employees. He has a strong safety record over several decades, resulting in zero workplace safety claims by his many employees and sub-trades. Attention to staff training and development, has been a focus.

Brenna Pieper

Financial Controller

Brenna Pieper is a dynamic Financial Controller with five years of dedicated experience in the oil and gas industry.  Known for her meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills, Brenna plays a crucial role in managing financial operations and ensuring the fiscal health of the organization.

She started in the oil and gas sector as the bookkeeper for her family business, Peter Overwater Oilfield Construction.  When they closed their doors in 2019, she moved over to Train Oilfield Services Ltd. as Project Controller.  

Her expertise in financial reporting, budget management, and compliance allows her to contribute significantly to strategic planning and decision making processes.

As Financial Controller, Brenna collaborates closely with her leadership team to develop financial strategies that support the company's objectives and drive sustainable growth.  

Outside of work, Brenna enjoys teaching people about money through her business, Pretty Penny Financial and spending time with family and friends.
